How Workforce AI Security is licensed
Check Point Workforce AI Security is a cloud-delivered subscription. Check Point sells it in two tiers:
- Essentials: discovery, governance and protection for AI used through web applications
- Enterprise: the same across web and desktop AI applications, developer code assistants, and agents and MCP
Check Point's own cloud marketplace listing prices both tiers per user per year, and its administration guide positions Essentials as "lighter, more affordable" and Enterprise as "full-featured, comprehensive". We do not publish figures here. Ask us for a quote and we can price it for the users, tier and term you need.

What the subscription gives you
Whichever tier you choose, the subscription is for the Workforce AI Security service itself, run from Check Point's cloud and managed in the Check Point Portal. Based on Check Point's descriptions, that covers:
- Discovery: the AI applications, accounts and (in Enterprise) desktop apps, coding assistants, agents and MCP servers in use
- Assessment: risk levels for applications and sessions, and classification of what people use AI for
- Governance: access, chat (DLP) and, in Enterprise, agent policies, set by application, user and data type
- Protection: redaction, copy and paste limits, user guidance and blocking at the point of use
- Evidence: event logs and reports on AI usage, detected data types, risks and enforcement

Before you buy: what to check
A few checks save money and avoid surprises:
- Do you already have GenAI Protect? It was included in some Check Point browser, endpoint and SASE packages. Check Point says Workforce AI Security replaces it and that details of "migration to Essentials at no additional cost will be shared". - What AI do people really use? Paying for Enterprise when all use is in the browser is wasteful; buying Essentials when developers use coding assistants leaves a gap. Discovery answers this.
- Who needs covering? Contractors, part-time staff and shared accounts all affect the user count.
- Where should data be processed? Check Point's connectivity documentation lists separate services for EU, US, Canada and India accounts. Why the cheapest option may not be the right one
Price matters, but so does coverage. If Essentials covers how your people use AI, that is the sensible choice. If discovery shows desktop apps, coding assistants or agents in use, we can walk you through the evidence, so you can decide whether the extra coverage is worth it.

Check Point says existing GenAI Protect customers are supported until contract end and that details of migration to Essentials at no additional cost will be shared. Enterprise coverage would be a separate decision. We can check your contract with you.
